Updatesee is a local-business discovery platform built for India — map-first, ranking-transparent and owner-friendly.
Why we exist
Finding a good local business still means bouncing between search results, social posts and word of mouth. Updatesee brings the three together: real listings with verified details, real reviews from real accounts, and a map that understands where you actually are.
We started with four cities and a simple rule — never show a listing we cannot place on a map, and never rank one without being able to explain why.
How ranking works
Results are ordered by five weighted signals: distance, relevance to your query, rating, prominence (verification, completeness and review volume) and recent activity.
The exact weights used for every search are stored with that search, so a past result order can always be reconstructed and explained. Paid plans buy placement in clearly labelled slots — never a quiet thumb on the organic scale.
For business owners
Claiming a listing is free and always will be. Once verified you get a dashboard with views, calls, direction requests, enquiries, bookings and reviews — plus the ability to reply to every review in public.
Our data principles
We collect the minimum we need, record consent with its policy version, and hash anything that could identify a device under a key that never touches the database.
Access and erasure are self-service, not a support ticket: My Account → Your data downloads everything we hold about you and deletes your account outright. Our Grievance Officer is named in the Privacy Policy, as the DPDP Act 2023 requires.
